PS5: Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart Trailer

Insomniac is killing it recently. With the success of Spider-Man and its upcoming sequel it was only a matter of time before they got back to an old favorite, Ratchet & Clank. This is an old favorite of mine and personally I can’t wait to head back into the world. Rift Apart looks like it will expand on the formula quite a bit. From new weapons to some crazy boss battles, a series staple, it looks like we will have a whole new universe to explore when the game drops. If you have played Horizon Zero Dawn, then you can understand while this sequel is one to get hyped about. Horizon Forbidden West looks like a beautiful continuation of the Horizon story. Horizon Forbidden West continues Aloy’s story as she moves west to a far-future America to brave a majestic, but dangerous frontier where she’ll face awe-inspiring machines and mysterious new threats. PS5: Spider-Man Miles Morales Trailer

Expanding upon Marvel’s Spider-Man from Insomniac, is Miles Morales which will be a side story that follows after the main events of the 2018 game. In the original game Miles gets bitten by a spider that gives him powers similar to Peter’s. We did not get to see him using said powers but Insomniac is fixing that with this release. While this isn’t a true sequel to the original, it will definitely bridge the gap between the first and second game. It will also open the door for us to play as both characters in the sequel. Oh and just FYI this is going to be released before the end of the year. Check out the trailer below and leave us a comment with your thoughts.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla Trailer

This global health crisis is putting a hold on so many conventions that we as nerds look forward to every year. Most notably the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) has been put off for now. It would seem that is not going to stop game developers from getting us excited about new and upcoming games. The first high profile release for this holiday season will be Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Ubisoft has dropped a cinematic trailer for the game and it looks like it will be another great entry in the ongoing Creed saga. I have been very satisfied with the direction Ubisoft has been taking the franchise since Origins and Odyssey and it looks like Valhalla will continue this trend beautifully. We as fans have been clamoring for this era of history to get the Creed treatment for a while now and it looks like Ubisoft is finally making that happen. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will release this winter. Check out the trailer below and leave us a comment with your thoughts.

Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion Gets His Revenge

Jason O’Toole

Credit: Warner Bros. / NetherRealm Studios

Mortal Kombat has been brought to life in many different ways outside of the video games. From the live action attempts in the 90’s to the animated film from the 90’s and even a Saturday morning cartoon from the early 2000’s, and they have all failed to hit the mark in some way or another. While we wait for the planned live action reboot, NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. animation are bring us an R rated adaptation of the first tournament that will tell a personal tale about Scorpion’s hatred of the Lin Kuei clan, the same that Sub-Zero belongs to. This one looks like it definitely hits on the violence we have come to expect from the franchise but we will have to wait and see if the story holds up as well. Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge will come to Blu-Ray and DVD on April 28th. Check out the Red Band trailer below and leave us a comment with your thoughts.

Black Widow Final Trailer

Marvel Studios has released one final theatrical trailer for Black Widow ahead of its May 1st release date. This trailer puts the spotlight on one of the films main villains, Taskmaster. The identity of this new villain has been kept a closely guarded secret which leads me to believe he is someone we have seen before or will be introduced to as a friend to Natasha in the film only to betray her at some point. Apparently he is in charge of the Red Room, which is where Black Widows are raised and trained to be assassins. It would seem his battle memory ability from the Marvel comics is at the fore as we see him use a shield similar to Cap’s and a bow similar to Hawkeye’s. The film looks like it will be a welcome addition to the ever expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe. Check out the trailer below and leave us a comment with your thoughts.

Resident Evil 3 Remake Gameplay Footage

Jason O’Toole

As we approach the release date of Capcom’s Resident Evil 3 remake, we have started to see gameplay footage from this hotly anticipated sequel to the excellent remake of RE2. The footage is very reminiscent of RE2 with two notable exceptions. Firstly, just like the old game from 1999, this game will include the dodge step, which was a move Jill could perform in that original that allowed her to sidestep incoming attacks. It seems like players should get used to this feature as it looks as though it will be integral to surviving in the streets of Raccoon City. Secondly, if you thought Mr. X from RE2 was persistent it looks as though he has nothing on our old friend the Nemesis, who pursues you even more relentlessly. Check out the gameplay footage from YouTuber GetRektNoob below and stay tuned to ETG fro all the latest updates. Resident Evil 3 remake will release on April 3rd.

Bloodshot Trailer

Jason O’Toole

It’s been talked about for many years and finally the Valiant cinematic universe begins with Bloodshot. I could think of no bald action star better for the role than Vin Diesel. The Valiant comics old and new have always been a universe that is action packed and ready to get the movie treatment. The trailer has a very 80’s action movie feel to it and I for one can’t wait to see Mr. Diesel bring his particular brand of action to this new cinematic universe. The film doesn’t have a release date yet but I expect we won’t see this one until at least 2020.

Birds of Prey Teaser Trailer

Jason O’Toole

DC has released a teaser trailer for Harley Quinn….oh wait I mean Birds of Prey. While this trailer looks fun, it doesn’t look like a Birds of Prey story. This movie looks like Warner Bros. first attempt at a Harley Quinn solo film guest starring the Birds. The movie also looks to be missing one key element, namely Batgirl. I’m honestly not sure why this movie isn’t just called Harley Quinn. It also has Ewan McGregor playing Roman Sionis, minus the black mask part of the character. I’m just not really sure what they are going for with this one. We won’t have to wait too long to find out as Birds of Prey and the Fabulous Emancipation of Harley Quinn comes to theaters in February 2020.

Star Wars Episode IX Final Trailer

Lucasfilm has released the final full theatrical trailer for The Rise of Skywalker. I have had a fair amount of skepticism about this movie from the start, but I have to say this new trailer might have just sold me on the film. The preview looks fantastic and while trailers can sometimes be deceiving, I don’t think that’s the case here. The films mysteries are still just that, but the trailer shows what will surely be a blockbuster finale as battle lines are drawn and the galaxy makes a decision to stand with the resistance against the first order. We don’t have much longer to wait as the finale to the Skywalker saga will come to theaters on December 20th.

Joker Theatrical Trailer

Jason O’Toole

Warner Bros. has finally given us a theatrical trailer for their upcoming look into the mind of a psychopath, Joker. DC last tried bringing this titan of comics to the screen with Suicide Squad, and we all remember how that turned out. They have had a couple of hits lately with Aquaman and Shazam so we’ll see if they can keep that streak alive. Joker looks like it will be a haunting look at what makes a man like that tick. Joaquin Phoenix looks fantastic in the makeup and that laugh is chilling. Fingers crossed on this one. Check out the trailer below and leave us a comment with your thoughts.

D23: The Rise of Skywalker

Jason O’Toole

The Rise of Skywalker is almost upon us and D23 has given us a better look at the upcoming finale to the Skywalker saga. I’m still really not sure how to feel about this one. On the one hand, I love Star Wars and on the other I’m worried about the expectations the fans have ruining this conclusion. The trailer is just as vague and mysterious as the teaser we saw some months back. What is certain is all your questions will be answered on December 20th when the saga finally comes to and end. Check out the trailer below and leave us a comment with your thoughts.

D23: The Mandalorian

D23 has finally given fans our first look at The Mandalorian, which will be debuting with Disney’s new streaming service Disney+ on November 12th. From the opening shot of Stormtrooper helmets impaled on spikes, it is clear this will be unlike anything we’ve seen from the Star Wars universe. The production values made me think I was watching a trailer for an upcoming movie. It seems like Disney and Lucasfilm have spared no expense when it comes to this one. Check out the trailer below and leave us a comment with your thoughts.
